Its a verb they say
Its defunct I say, so
How can it denote action
It gives life they say
Its meaningless I say, so
How can it provide succour
Its nothing but a word
A word that maddens the world
A thing that destroys the self
On this day of love
I give up on the word, and
I renounce the Idea
its a concept as unworthy
As the people who profess love
and don't value the being of another.
